Dear friends and neighbors:
Your neighborhood association is involved in a lot of activities to
help improve your quality of life and the safety of our neighborhood. We are
constantly in touch with the police and code enforcement to address housing code
issues and criminal activity. Some of you may have seen the results of our
on going efforts on your street.
We are involved with ridding our community of irresponsible and
inappropriate alcohol sales. We feel that this, over time, will decrease the
unsavory element trekking thru our neighborhood and create a safer environment
for our children before and after school. I also hope that over time our
criminal activity will decrease as well. All of that will help our overall
The speed humps are coming. This project takes time. We also have to deal
with weather and other problems that arise with the schedule. I spoke with the
city official in charge of the Speed humps and was told that they will be
installed in the next 3 months. When the contractor starts this season we are
3-4 on the list to have speed humps installed. The first humps will be placed on
Central & Agnes. After that we will try to get them installed on Sledge. All are
between Snowden circle and Bellevue.
Your neighborhood's social activities: We have an activity in our
neighborhood at least once per month. These activities provide you with an
excellent opportunity to meet your neighbors and build a stronger more cohesive
community. You are fortunate to live in a neighborhood with a very active
Neighborhood Association. Please take advantage of your local organization. I
have personally spoken to a number of other neighborhood associations, and they
are not nearly as active. Please don't take this for granted. Be on the look out
for the Neighborhood clean up, House Hopping, our general meeting later this
month and our Neighborhood Picnic on June 26th.
The above is a small list of things that your neighborhood association is
involved in on your behalf. These are your Association Dues at work ($25 for a
full year). Again, I hope you take advantage of your neighborhood association.
If you are new to the neighborhood we would love for you to participate in our
activities. If you have lived here for a while and stopped being involved, we
would love to have you back.
See you around the neighborhood,
